what are the wts' long term (5+ years) and short term (up to 2 years) plans?.
the leaders know the end isn't right around the corner despite what they tell the r&f.
otherwise they would not have built patterson and purchased new presses.. the leaders are faced with mounting problems: declining statistics in developed countries, the internet, lawsuits, etc.
picture the WTS becoming bankrupt. picture MOST, if not HALF of jw's still preaching without mags. picture them vocally establishing the great tribulation because of the situation. picture them never ever knowing the full story and perpetually creating urban myths surrounding their ignorance. I CAN PICTURE IT

yea i mentioned the packed parking lots of churches to my Jdub mother and she always blames it on a holiday. "it's easter/christmas etc..."

do they believe they are going to heaven?

uncle bruce makes a good point. it would have been difficult to be an apostate in the eighties and early nineties... they really helped pave the way for us as well. instead of posting some info on a website, they would have to hold signs at conventions. instead of secretly searching the internet for info on the JW movement, they would have to accept apostate material in public. we have some things pretty good over here!
